Syria Launches Multi-million Water Projects in Damascus

Syria_Water_Projects_in_Damascus
Syria (Damascus) – Syrian Prime Minister Mohmmad Naji Otri inaugurated two projects for water pumping and a subscriber service center at the General Establishment of Drinking Water and Sewerage in Damascus and its Countryside at an overall cost of SYP 439 millions (1 USD is equal to about 47 SYP).

Otri inaugurated the Eighth Node Pumping Station in Damascus at a cost of SYP 210 millions, aimed to supply the city with 12,500 cubic meters of water a day.

The project includes 19 250-meter deep wells near the eighth traffic node, a number of tanks with a capacity of 5, 000 cubic meters, a power generation plant and 2 power converters.

Mechanic and electric equipment required for operating the station was installed along with a sterilization system, in addition to the equipment for an underground injection well.

Premier Otri also opened the Subscriber Service Center at the General Establishment of Drinking Water and Sewerage in Damascus and its Countryside. He toured the departments of the center and was briefed on its services.

The center aims at improving and facilitating services provided to the citizens and developing work mechanism through using modern technologies.

The center, which serves 1500 subscribers a day, was built on an area of 260 cubic meters with a total cost of SYP 7 millions.

Otri also inaugurated al-Rabwa Pumping Station at a cost of SYP 222 millions, which supplies Damascus with 28,000 cubic meters of water a day.
