Egypt, Italy to Establish Joint Technology University

Egypt and Italy are closely following up progress in the implementation of a public-private partnership project to establish a technologically oriented joint university.

Discussions over the matter took place during a meeting on Wednesday between Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abul-Naga and Italian Ambassador to Egypt Claudio Pacifico.

Talks also covered the file of joint economic and technical cooperation and a follow-up of a number of joint development projects.

The two sides discussed as well Italy's contribution of one million euros to a project to develop Egypt's northwestern coast under a joint declaration which was signed by the two countries' governments on the sidelines of an Egyptian-Italian summit held in Rome on May 19.

Executive steps for the setting up of an Egyptian-Italian nursing institute in Egypt's governorate of Port Said were examined.

Also tackled was joint cooperation in implementing development projects across Africa, especially the Malaria-combat project in Ethiopia.
