EU: Lebanon Holds Energy Forum and Exhibition
The EU-funded energy projects MED-EMIP and MED-ENEC II will take part in the Beirut Energy Forum and Exhibition to be held on 30 September and 1 October 2010 at the Metropolitan Palace Hotel, Beirut, Lebanon.

This event is under the high patronage of H.E. Mr. Gebran Bassil, Minister of Energy & Water, and is jointly organized by Mounassabattcom for Congress and Exhibitions and Salon Des Energies Renouvelables De Paris with the support of LCEC as the strategic partner and many local, regional, and international organizations active in the energy field.

An announcement said MED-EMIP would contribute by presenting two papers, one on Energy Market Integration by Dr. Albrech Kaupp, the project Team Leader and the second on Developing National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAP) by Mr. Ammar Al-Taher, Key Expert. MED-EMIP and MED-ENEC II will also be present at the exhibition, providing information on their various activities, with a special focus on their contribution and support to the National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs).

MED-EMIP is a platform for energy policy dialogue and exchange of experiences, leading to enhanced Euro-Med cooperation, integration of the energy markets and improved security and sustainability. It is funded by the EU with a budget of € 4.1 million and runs between 2007 and 2010.

MED-ENEC II encourages energy efficiency and the use of solar energy in the construction sector, playing a major role in the design and implementation of cooperation efforts between the EU and its Mediterranean Partners and among the Partners themselves. It is funded by the EU with a budget of €5 million and runs between 2009 and 2013.
