Oman Grabs First, Second Posts in Italy Extreme Sailing Series

Italy (Trapani) - The two sailboats of the Oman Sailing Team, Mawj and Masirah obtained first and second positions in the conclusion of the fourth round of Extreme Sailing Series held in Trapani, Italy from September 23rd to 26th 2010.

At the last round, Mawj Muscat Sailboat managed to get 138 points while Masirah Sailboat managed to get 120 points.

The two sailboats were so powerful opponents, particularly because Mawj Muscat managed to seize the first position for three consecutive days while Masirah managed to stay in the second position for two consecutive days. Trapani was amongst the hardest races in Extreme Sailing Series this season because of the strong wind during almost all the days of the race.

Mawj Sailboat managed to secure nine victories in 24 races during the four-day round, so this sailboat comes first in the general ranking before the launch of the last round that will be held in the City of Almería, in Andalusia, Spain on October 9th, while Masirah sailboat comes fourth in the general ranking after the French sailboat Gaetana that came second and the British Ecover sailboat that came third.
