Tunisia (Tunis) - The Amir (of Kuwait) Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah wrapped up an official two-day visit to Tunisia on Tuesday and expressed gratitude to the Tunisian President Zine El-Abidine Bin Ali for the cordial hospitality, reports Global Arab Network according to Kuwaiti sources

HH the Amir's delegation was seen off at the airport by President Zine El-Abidine Bin Ali, the First Minister Mohammad Al-Ghannoushi, the Tunis Governor Munther Al-Fureiji and the Tunis Sheikh Al-Baji Bin Mami, senior officials, diplomats and the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tunisia, Fahad Ahmad Al-Awadhi.

HH the Amir and President Bin Ali held a cordial conversation that depicted depth of the good ties bounding the brotherly peoples of Kuwait and Tunisia.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief of Kuwait's National Guards Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the accompanying official delegation.

Political consultation
Tunisian Foreign Minister Kamel Morjane said the visit of the Amir of kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the north African country would further boost political consultation and coordination between Kuwait and Tunisia.

Speaking to Kuwaiti press, Morjane said the Amir's visit was a "distinguished occasion to strengthen political consultations and coordination" between leaders of Kuwait and Tunisia over a host of Arab, regional and international matters of mutual interest.

The visit, he added, would also bolster political, economic, social and cultural relations.

Sheikh Sabah is paying his first visit to Tunisia since assuming office in January 2006.

Morjane said financial and investment cooperation between Kuwait and Tunisia have been growing "and is a major pillar in our partnership."

He cited that Kuwait and Tunisia signed earlier today a number of cooperation agreements in domains of air transport, investment, industry, media, oil and gas.

Kuwait's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said the meeting between Sheikh Sabah and Tunisian President Zine El Abidine ben Ali would help transform the agreements into "a practical reality."

Speaking to Kuwaiti press, Sheikh Mohammad said Kuwait and Tunisia were bound to solid relationship and partnership.

This "secured and open" country has investment opportunities in finance and culture, he said.

Media cooperaiton
Kuwaiti and Tunisian media outlets are keen on developing ties, said a Tunisian official.

Tunisian Minister of Communication Oussama Romdhani told Kuwaiti press that seeking such goal should be through increasing visitation and exchanging expertise, adding that outlets in both countries should work on showcasing recent events and developments in Kuwait and Tunisia.

Romdhani invited Kuwaiti media personnel to Tunisia to exchange expertise and benefit from the Tunisian experience in the field.
