Libya Hosts Chinese-Arab Friendship Associations Meeting

Libya (Tripoli) - Libya will host on Sunday the third edition of the conference of Chinese-Arab friendship association, themed "towards promising horizons of Chinese-Arab friendship."

The conference to be held under supervision of the Libyan General People's Congress (parliament) will bring together heads of friendship associations between China from one side and Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan and the Palestinian lands from the other, Libyan Jana news agency reported.

A high-level Chinese delegation is expected to attend the event, featuring president of the China-Arab Friendship Association (CAFA) Ismail Amat, a former vice-president of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee, the report said.

A representative from the Arab League as well as a number of Libyan and Arab experts will also attend, Jana noted. According to the report, the conference will focus on three core topics: the Arab-Chinese relations, horizons of cooperation with the struggle of the Arab Palestinian people, and cooperation in economic, investment, cultural, scientific and technical domains, the Libyan agency said.(JANA)
