Qatar, Germany exchanging trade opportunities and cooperation

Qatar (Doha)  - A delegation representing Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) met on Tuesday with a German trade delegation from Lower Saxony province, who is currently visiting Qatar, reports Global Arab Network according to QNA.

The meeting attended by Jorg Bode, the Minister of Economy, Labour and Transport of Lower Saxony and a number of Qatari businessmen and their German counterparts is aimed at exchanging trade opportunities and cooperation between the two sides especially in the areas of health, education, training, construction contracting, power, mechanics, water, energy services, infrastructure and telecommuniations projects, computers, transport and tourism.

In an address over the meeting, Jorg Bode stressed the importance of boosting communication between the two sides with a view to exploring further tourism opportunities available in the two countries.

The two-day visit of the German delegation falls within the context of discussing more projects to be carried out by the two sides in various domains, the minister of economy, labour and transport of Lower Saxony said in an exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Hailing the in-depth trade relations between Qatar and the Lower Saxony province through the partnerships between the Qatari companies and their Saxony counterparts, the German Minister praised the volume of Qatari investments worldwide. Recalling the several investment opportunities between the two countries in energy, renewable energy ,technology and tourism, Jorg Bode voiced hope for more cooperstion between the two countries.

Asked about the meeting expected today between the German delegation and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the german minister said the meeting will focus on getting the QIA involved in investment into the Volkswagen Automotive Company and how best to enhance its role to become the first worldwide and how best to further boosting its markets across the world and especially in the Middle East and America.

For his part, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Obaidly, the QCCI Board Member And Secretary General Of Business Council of QCCI underlined the importance of enhancing ties of cooperation between the two sides hoping the visit of the german delegation to qatar would help further enhance and strengthen ties of joint commerical and economic cooperation, stressing the due keenness of the private sector to exert every effort to boosting such a cooperation.

Al -Obaidly reviewed the mammoth development process and overall progress qatar has witnessed in all domains on the basis of establishing the advanced infrastructure to cope with the requirements of the economic and social development.

The QCCI board member further said that Qatar National Vision 2030 for sustainable development is based on economic diversification and partnership between the public and private sectors through giving the private sector a bigger role to contribute to realizing targets of the economic development process .

Such a vision would further stimulate for more cooperation between the qatari businessmen and their counterparts across the world, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Obaidly said in conclusion. (QNA)
