Egypt joins OECD Education Committee

Egypt (Cairo) - Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr participated in the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which was held at the organization’s headquarters in Paris on 4-5/11/2010, under the title: "Investing in the social and human capital through education…new challenges". Some 38 world countries attended the meeting.

In a press statement in Paris, Badr said that the organization agreed in its meeting on 14 October on Egypt's accession to the OECD Education Committee as an observer.

He pointed out that Egypt cooperated with the organization for a long time, especially in the field of higher education where OECD has prepared a report on the positions of higher education in Egypt, thus measuring the progress achieved by Egypt in this regard.
