Egypt, Qatar - New stage of economic cooperation to kick off

Egypt (Cairo) - Egypt's Trade and Industry Minister Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed said a new stage of economic cooperation will kick off between Egypt and Qatar in the coming period.

In statements at the end of his visit to Qatar, Rasheed, who also is the acting investment minister, said he discussed with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al Thani Qatari investments in Egypt. Egypt and Qatar agreed to start operation of the Qatari industrial zone in Borg Al-Arab, Rasheed said.

A joint delegation from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Qatari Businessmen Association will visit Egypt as soon as possible to explore investment opportunities available in Egypt and to get acquainted with facilities offered by the Egyptian government for Arab investors, the Minister noted.

Rasheed also added that he posted the Qatari premier on new projects and investment opportunities available in the infrastructure, domestic trade, industry, and tourism sectors in Egypt.
