Syria (Damascus) - In the framework of the Indian President's visit to Syria, the two countries on Saturday signed two memos of understanding and an executive program for media and cultural cooperation at the Syrian State Planning Commission, Global Arab Network reports according to SANA.

The signed documents included a memo of understanding between the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and the Indian News Agency with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two agencies in the domain of exchanging news bulletins and the daily broadcast in the used languages.

According to the memo, the two agencies will depend on each other as main sources of news and events inside the two friendly countries, in addition to exchanging technical and editorial expertise.

The Syrian Radio and Television General Commission and the Indian Radio and TV Commission also signed a memo of understanding in the domains of tourism, science and documentation, in addition to broadcasting mutual TV and radio programs.

The two countries also signed an executive program for cultural cooperation for the years 2010/2011 aiming at consolidating the bilateral cultural cooperation, particularly in the domains of cinema, antiquities, museums and folklore, in addition to exchanging exhibitions and publications related to the archeological monuments as well as the theatrical shows.
