Bahrain (Manama) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed the importance of a just approach based on the international law when it comes to dealing with the nuclear issues.

"All countries hope to have an access to the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes based on the Non-proliferation Treaty," he noted.

He also asserted that Turkey opposes the existence of nuclear weapons everywhere, noting that such weapons pose problems and risks for the existence of mankind, and that, "we should develop a regime free of nuclear weapons and we do not want such weapons to proliferate in the Middle East region."

Davutoglu made the previous remarks in his address before one the sessions of the 7th "Manama Dialogue" that was held here under the theme of "The Regional Security Cooperation."

In the same vein, he said "diplomacy is the best solution to the Iranian nuclear file. Nuclear talks will start all over again and we support such trend."

Further, he said "when we talk about security this will be at the core of military security, but when it comes to the region as a whole, the security as based on the military understanding will not lead to achieving security, but we should admit the soft security, namely the economic, social and cultural security."

He continued "so we should focus on the overall content and concept of security," adding "there should be no discrimination against any group or country, and that the security plan should be open to all parties, as the security of a single child in Gaza has the same value for a one in Tel Aviv, and if such structure disintegrates, there will be no sustainable security."

He also said that, "the second principle is the high-profile dialogue, and such kind of dialogue is not available, and when it is found, it is not up to par with the regional needs as many officials do not subscribe to the political dialogue." As for the third principle, he said that it is the economic interdependence, noting "it is the best solution to security problems, and if the countries are economically interdependent, war will not be in the interest of any party."

Regarding the fourth and last principle, he said that it is the coexistence of multi-cultures and the respectability of others, making clear that, "any ethnic and cultural conflicts in the Middle East region should be excluded," asserting that borders should be flexible in order to allow the overall economic interdependence, and that reaching security should be based upon confidence without a need for military presence on the borders.
