Oman, Lebanon Enhancing Bilateral Relations, Developing Economic Ties

Oman (Muscat) - Saad Rafiq al-hariri, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon praised the talks he conducted today with HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Al-Hariri said in a statement to Oman News Agency after his talks with Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers that he has discussed with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said ways of developing the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in all spheres, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues.

Al-Hariri said that his audience with His Majesty the Sultan was a good opportunity to discuss a number of issues including the conditions in Lebanon and the challenges it faces concerning the Israeli threats and peace initiative, in addition to a number of regional issues of interest for the two countries.

Al-Hariri affirmed that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has always been supporting the Lebanese people in all their issues and during the hard times Lebanese had experienced.

Al-Hariri clarified that his discussions with Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers have dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries, describing them of being in continuous development, indicating that he has discussed with Sayyid Fahd the economic aspect and the ways of developing it between the Sultanate and Lebanon.

Al-Hariri indicated that the concerned ministers in the two countries will discuss the efforts exerted for forming a committee that would deal with all the economic and commercial spheres till signing agreements between the two sides, as soon as possible in all fields, clarifying that these agreements would include the economic, commercial, tourist, educational, agricultural, scientific and cultural sides.

On his part, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers expressed in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) his happiness with the visit of the Prime Minister of the Sisterly Lebanese Republic to the Sultanate, confirming that this visit is considered a pioneering step in terms of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Sayyid Fahd indicated that there is a great deal of understanding between the Sultanate and Lebanon towards many issues, praising the wisdom of our brothers in Lebanon, expressing his wishes for stability and peace to the loveable Lebanese people who deserve much appreciation.
