Doha Hosts Qatar ExxonMobil Tennis Championship

Qatar (Doha) - The Qatar Tennis Federation performed on Friday the final rehearsal for the 2011 Qatar Exxon Mobil Open will be held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex between 3 - 8 January and will see the participation of world top tennis stars headed by World no. 1 Rafael Nadal of Spain and his arch-rival, world no. 2, Roger Federer of Switzerland.

The final rehearsal saw the presence of QTF President and head of the organizing committee Mr. Nasser Al Khelaifi and QTF board members, head of committees and all members of the organizing committees.

All Committees working on organizing the Qatar Exxon Mobil Open participated in the successful rehearsal that saw a test match of three games between Qatar Bational team players Moussa Shanan and Jabor Al Mutwa.

QTF President praised the preparations of all the committees and said that he is confident the everyone working on organizing will do his best to come out with a successful tournament that match the big names taking part in it.

Al Khelaifi fans to come to Khalifa Complex during the tournament to attend the matches that will see world best players and enjoy the other entertaining events at the complex he also promised many surprises to the fans.

Qatar Tennis Federation gives wildcards to four Qatari Players: Moussa Shannan, Jabr Nouh, Abdulrahman Hareb and Mubarak Shanan for the Qualifying Rounds.

Three wild cards are given to enter the Main Draw. Two were given to the highest ATP ranked Arabic players: Rida Al Omrani (MOR) and Sharif Sabri (EGY). The third is for Sergie Bobka of Ukraine.

Nasser Al Khaliafi: "We wanted to give the Qatari players the experience of being part of this tournament and therefore offered them wildcards for the Qualifying Rounds." (QNA)
