Oman (Muscat) - Hamed bin Mohammed al Rashdi, Oman’s Information Minister launched in a special ceremony at Oman Establishment for Press , Publication and Advertising two books ‘ Sultan Qaboos bin Said and International Peace Awards , big aims and great dreams' by the journalist Nasser bin Salim al Yahmadi and ‘ Oman and Peace in the Gulf ‘ by Dr. Abdul Hamid Muwafi.

The ceremony included a speech by Nasser bin Salim al Yahmadi the author of ‘ Sultan Qaboos bin Said and International Peace Awards, big aims and great dreams' where he pointed out that the book falls in 680 big size pages. It traces the international peace awards given to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and some glimpses of His Majesty's wise policies whether at the domestic or foreign fronts.

The author pointed out that the book includes some commendations by renowned international figures, as well as, statements by some ministers. It also includes some articles by the author about the achievements made during the blessed Renaissance and His Majesty's grants for the loyal Omani people. It also covers some visits of His Majesty the Sultan to sisterly and friendly countries and H.M.‘s reception to some world leaders who visited the Sultanate.

Al Yahmadi said that this book comes as recognition of His Majesty the Sultan, the architect of modern Oman and a renewal of the loyalty of the Omani people to His Majesty the Sultan.

On his part, Dr. Abdul Hamid al Muwafi, the author of the book ‘Oman and Security in the Gulf ‘expressed his happiness for writing this book which highlights the big role played by the Sultanate to ensure security in the Gulf in the last period. The book also highlights the efforts made by the Sultanate in the last period to enhance stability and security in the Gulf Region.

He also pointed out that throughout the last 40 years, the Sultanate has played a major role in enhancing security in the Gulf Region, benefiting from its good, balanced and quite relations with different countries whether in the region or in the world that have interests in the Gulf Region. He affirmed that the Sultanate's role has a positive impact on stability of the region.

He added that the book, which falls into 400 pages, traces this role. The author also covered the future of security in the Gulf Region and the future of the Omani role with relation to maintaining the highest level of security and stability for the peoples of this region. He affirmed that the responsibility towards security in the Gulf lies not only on Oman but a shared responsibility among Oman, the Gulf and the world countries.

As for the Omani role in the Gulf security, he pointed out that the Omani role has been present and will remain present in the future. He added that the world need for the Gulf region will continue in the future and may be more than it has been in the past decades.

The launching ceremony for the two book was attended by Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, CEO of Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising, a number of media men, journalists and invitees.
