Oman Environment Society, Emirates Environment Group Sign Cooperation Agreement in Dubai
UAE (Dubai) - The Omani Environment Society signed today a cooperation agreement in the environmental fields with Emirates Environment Group. The agreement comes as a bid by the Society and the Group to ensure bigger Gulf participation at the world environment initiatives, in addition to availing a Gulf data base and providing a platform that cares for the marine environment in the Sultanate and the U.A.E.

The agreement was signed by Sayyidah Tania bint Shabib al Said , Chairperson of the Omani Environment Society and on behalf of the Group by Habibah al Mara'shi, Chairperson of Emirates Environment Group.

The chairperson of the Omani Environment Society said that the successful campaigns of the Groups including the collection and recycling of wastes and the forestation campaigns will be rolled over in the Sultanate and that the Group is committed to developing its programmes for recycling and very keen to cooperate with the Emirates Environment Group in the exchange of knowledge and fields between the two sides.

On its part, Habiba al Mara'shi said that the agreement aims at long term capability building through joint cooperation to preserve natural resources and increasing the environmental awareness in the Gulf Region.

She added that the agreement aims at promoting for the global initiatives to create an environmental awareness and more sustainable region, as well as, exchange of technical expertise in a bid to improve the environmental surroundings and enhancing the cooperation among the existing environmental institutions in the GCC countries.
