Oman: Sultan Qaboos Appoints New Ministers and Officials

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has issued five Royal Decrees. Royal Decree No 13/2011 appoints Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy as Minister of Civil Service; Maqbool bin Ali Sultan as Minister of Transport and Communications; Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Harthy as Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs; Mohammed bin Nassir bin Mansoor al Khusaibi as Minister of Commerce and Industry; Mohsin bin Mohammed bin Ali al Shaikh as Minister of Tourism and Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al Shibaniyah as Minister of Education.

Royal Decree 1298745368426075300 No 14/2011 appoints Dr Khamis bin Mubarak al Alawi and Yahya bin Saud bin Mansoor al Sulaimy as State Advisers. Royal Decree No 15/2011 appoints Shaikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed bin Ahmed al Harthy as Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Economy with minister’s grade. Royal Decree No 16/2011 appoints Sayyid Hamad bin Hilal al Busaidy and Mohammed bin Hamoud bin Zahir al Toobi as members of Majlis Addawla.

Royal Decree No 17/2011 appoints Dr Muna bint Salim bin Khalfan al Jardaniyah as Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Technical Education and Vocational Training and Mohammed bin Khamis bin Abdullah al Amri as Under-Secretary of the Manpower Ministry for Labour Affairs.
All five decrees took effect yesterday. (ONA)
