Egypt, Germany Enhancing Economic Relations

Egypt’s Trade and Industry Minister Samir el-Sayyad met with Minister of Economics of Germany 's Baden-Württemberg state Ernst Pfister for talks on means of boosting joint economic cooperation.

Following the meeting, Sayyad said Egypt is keen to enhance its cooperation with Germany in the various domains in the coming phase.

Egypt is looking forward to benefiting from the German experience to set the stage for pumping more German investments into the Egyptian market, he said.
German's Makro wholesale store re-opened its chains in El-Salam City and Qalyub, he said, adding two new branches will be opened in the coming phase, which reflects the confidence of the German investors in the strength of the Egyptian market.

The minister called on German investors to visit Egypt and have first hand information on the democratic change in the country and anti-corruption efforts.

The ministry is willing to resolve any problems that might be facing German companies working in Egypt , Sayyad stressed.

For his part, the German minister commended the positive developments in Egypt following the revolution. On its website, the German Foreign Ministry has called on German tourists to visit the country, especially with the restoration of security and political stability in the country, he added. (SIS)
