Giant Octopus Found in Syria - 9 Meters Length and 2 Tons Weight

Syrian coast (Tartous) - A 9 meter-long, 2 ton-weight perished giant octopus was found at the seashore in Tartous province on Sunday, Global Arab Network reports according to Syrian State News Agency.

Head of Fisheries department in Tartous Ala al-Sheikh Ahmad said the perished octopus was found near the Dreams Chalets, adding that this kind of octopuses exists in all seas. Its weight can be 6 tons.

Tartous Agriculture Department made procedures needed to transfer and anatomize the octopus to know the death causes.
