Saudi Economic Forum Tackles Challenges and Opportunities

Saudi Arabia (Riyadh)  - Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al Assaf will address 'Saudi Economic Forum', starting its two-day deliberations here tomorrow.

The Forum will focus on the current global economy and the driving force behind Saudi Arabia's economy.
It is being organized by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with Economy and Business Group at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.

Another key speaker of the Forum will be the Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Dr. Mohammed Al-Jasser.

Other speakers will touch upon subjects like Global Economic Prospects, issues of investment and financial policies and the global economic outlook.

Some delegates of Saudi companies will tackle prime issues like the future of the Saudi economy; the most prominent sectors for growth in the Saudi economy and measures to create jobs and bring about the added-value to the national economy.

One of the sessions of the Forum on Wednesday, will deal with 'the region's economy and expectations of the next stage on the assessment of the situation of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) economies after the crisis and drawing the main lessons that can redirect some of the economic options.

Another session will shed light on 'the banking industry in Saudi Arabia and the region and the challenges of the next stage and quality control systems and the organizational systems and structures of money markets and banks that are needed in the region to avoid slipping into economic crises in the future.

These speakers are from Saudi Arabia, other GCC countries, Arab, Muslim and friendly countries of the Kingdom from abroad.

The final session of the Forum will review 'The role of the Saudi private sector and investment in infrastructure to support economic development,' and the challenges that lie ahead.

World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati will also address the Forum and highlight the Bank's vision and its strategy towards the region in general and Saudi Arabia in particular. (SPA)
