Morocco, Turkey boosting economic cooperation

Morocco (Rabat) - Morocco and Turkey reiterated, on Wednesday in Rabat, their will to further reinforce and foster bilateral economic cooperation to bring it to the level of excellent political relations uniting the two countries.

In a meeting of Economy Minister Salaheddine Mezouar with Turkish Minister in charge of Customs Hayati Yazici, the two parties hailed the friendship relations between Morocco and Turkey.

The two officials reviewed the legal framework governing bilateral relations, notably economic and commercial matters, stressing the importance of partnership potential of both countries.

On this occasion, Mezouar underlined the openness policy adopted by both countries and their geo-strategic roles, adding that these elements are the foundation stone for the launch of new partnerships and the optimization of major regional blocs, such as the Arab world, Africa and the European Union.

Earlier, the Turkish official co-chaired with Foreign Trade Minister Abdellatif Maazouz the 9th Morocco-Turkey intergovernmental economic joint committee. (MAP)
