Rabat - Morocco's Economy and Finance Ministry and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) signed, Tuesday in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote economic cooperation between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement.

The agreement was signed by the director of treasury and external finances at the ministry, Faouzia Zaaboul, and the executive director of JBIC, Fumio Hoshi.

Zaaboul said the agreement comes at a time when Morocco is witnessing an important momentum of reforms and investments likely to boost trade and investment flows between the two countries.

And Hoshi said this agreement will enable the JBIC to provide financial support for the Japanese firms based in Morocco, particularly in the field of energy and infrastructure, the statement said. (MAP)
