Syria (Damascus) – The national team of the Arabic Digital Content will launch the initiatives of cognitive learning, standardization and accreditation, and audio-visual content at Rida Said Conference Hall in Damascus University on Wednesday.

The project will be under the patronage of Syria’s Vice-President Najah al-Attar who will attend the launching of these initiatives as a first step towards a comprehensive strategy for Arabic Digital Content Industry.

The initiatives aim at laying the foundation for a pioneering industry and supporting investments in this field to advance the Arabic language and move towards an information society and knowledge-based economy.

The audio-visual content initiative aims at bringing together the current and future national production in an integrated formula that attracts producers in public and private sectors and set the basis for strong industry to meet the needs of local and Arab markets.

The importance of standardization and accreditation initiative in supporting the Arabic Digital Content Industry emerges from the fact that any industry requires certain standards and measurements to have its economic and development role and survive in a competitive environment. The initiative will provide the opportunity to develop an information and administrative system for content management.

The cognitive learning initiative aims at starting a constructive dialogue between the projects' owners and the institutions concerned in education to establish joint partnerships serving the teaching and learning process in the Arab region.

The outcomes of the meetings, due to be held after the launch workshop, will be submitted to the 2nd National Conference on Arabic Digital Content, scheduled next summer.
