Morocco, China Sign MoU to Enhance Investment Cooperation

Rabat - Moroccan Investment Development Agency (AMDI) and China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) signed, on Tuesday in Rabat, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This agreement is meant to strengthen partnership in the field of investment promotion through sharing information and expertise, said a statement of AMDI.

It also aims at intensifying meetings between the two countries' businessmen.

The new cooperation platform is likely "to offer a new channel for attracting Chinese investment in Morocco," the statement added.

China and Morocco established diplomatic relations in November 1958. Over the past 43 years the political relations between China and Morocco have been developing steadily and smoothly. The two countries share the close or similar views on many international issues.

China has rendered Morocco certain economic aid since 1961. Mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Morocco was initiated in 1983. Presently China's contracted projects in Morocco mainly concentrate on fishery cooperation.
