Morocco Joins OECD Development Centre

Rabat - Morocco becomes a Bureau member of the Development Centre of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), announced Monday in Rabat the Centre's director Mario Pezzini.

The OECD Development Centre Bureau, an executive body, includes four members of the Organization, namely Germany, Mexico, Korea and Greece and non-member countries such as Brazil, Indonesia and South Africa.

"Morocco has been added to these non-members a month ago," Pezzini said at the signing ceremony of an agreement between Morocco's High Commission for Planning (HCP) and OECD development centre on policies and measures of social cohesion.

Under the agreement signed by the High Commissioner for Planning Ahmed Alami Lahlimi and Pezzini, Morocco and the development centre decide to cooperate in order to organize in Morocco two preparatory meetings at the World Forum on “Statistics, Knowledge and Policy” held in New Delhi in autumn 2012.
