Qatar: Sheikha Moza Launches National Health Strategy

Qatar (Doha) - Under the patronage of HH the Heir Apparent and President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Vice President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) launched this evening at Doha Sheraton Hotel the Qatar National Health Strategy for development Health Care (2011-2016) .

The launching ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers and officials of the health sector in the State. HH Sheikha Moza delivered a speech on this occasion in which she stressed the significance of launching the National Health Strategy, which Her Highness said that for the first time it will be possible to assess and verify the effectiveness of plans and medical programs through scientific indicators that can be monitored and analyzed against the goals formulated and set by the national strategy for health.

HH Sheika Moza said that the health planning to which we aspire is not only confined to disease prevention, and planning for the provision of needs, development of human resources and infrastructure but also planning as a way to mobilize all efforts to make health institutions as modern educational and research institutions that don not deal with medicine alone, but look at its development of and processing.

HH Sheikha Moza added that the planning targets as well making the health institutions, as institutions that play a vital role as a participant in the regional and global map of research, based on the three pillars that need to be taken into account: First our unique demographic edification, which constitutes a base suitable for Biomedical Research related to genetic composition, which is the basis of the achievements of medical science in the future.", HH Sheikha Moza noted The second pillar, HH Sheikha Moza said is to provide the essential foundation for the funding and implementation of scientific research projects through the specialized health centres, relying on the methodology of Waqf (endowments), which we have followed some time ago to ensure the sustainability of the completion of projects .. and finally my firm conviction that any change in this vital area cannot be achieved without existence of a real national. ", HH Sheikha Moza underlined. (QNA)
