JICA: Egypt, Japan Seek Boosting Economic Cooperation

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Fayza Abul-Naga reviewed with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Cairo ways to promote bilateral relations and cooperation at such critical circumstances both nations are going through.

The minister expressed deepest condolences of the Egyptian people to the people and government of Japan over the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

The meeting covered cooperation between Egypt and Japan in all fields particularly in the election process and efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to ensure transparent and fair elections.

Abul-Naga underlined the need to confront economic and social challenges in Egypt in parallel with political reforms.

Japan is one of Egypt's key development partners, she said. (SIS)
