Global Arab Network - The Deputy Speaker of the Australian Parliament, Peter Slipper, said, he is "very impressed" by Morocco's strong commitment towards democracy.

The commitment of all Moroccans, that of HM King Mohammed VI in particular, to democracy is "very impressive", the Australian official told the press after his talks in Rabat with Morocco's Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Yassir Zenagui.

The talks focused on several issues of common interest and examined the means to further bolster the "very good relations" between Morocco and Australia, he pointed out.

The two parties stressed the importance of strengthening ties between the Moroccan and Australian peoples in order to promote tourism between the two countries, he added.

He also said that he encourages Australians to visit Morocco, adding that they will have the opportunity to discover a country which has a long experience in tourism.

During these discussions, Zenagui presented to the Australian official the future strategy for the Moroccan tourism investment and the broad lines of the 2020 Vision, launched last November by HM the King.

He also briefed Slipper on Morocco’s ambitious tourism projects which are regarded as models of sustainable development and cooperation in this area.

Slipper, accompanied by the representative of the Australian Trade Commission in Morocco, held earlier talks with Moroccan officials on ways to boost bilateral cooperation. (MAP)
