Global Arab Network - Under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of  Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), HE Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Emiri Diwan Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah opened the Second Qatar International Business Women Forum, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel here.

In his address to the gathering comprising over 600 leading business women at the opening session of the Forum, HE Al Attiyah said Qatar was among the few Arab countries to empower and evolve the role of Qatari businesswomen in contributing towards the country's economic, cultural and social development, thanks to the vision and wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Emiri Diwan commended the convening of the Forum for the second year and said its high profile reiterates that it will become an important annual event in Qatar, the Gulf and the Arab world.

He stressed the importance of hosting the Forum comprising business leaders and experts to discuss in-depth the topics and the issues raised on the pivotal role of Arab women as businesswomen as well as on topics of Arab women and Arab societies in general at this delicate stage when there are profound changes and challenges.

These issues need to be addressed which coincide with the prospective negative economic effects and how best to relieve and mitigate their impact on the states concerned and on the whole Arab economy, HE al Attiyah said stressing meantime that the only way to achieve this goal is through more cooperation and mutual coordination.

HE Al Attiyah expressed his confidence that Arab women, having contributed towards the economic progress of Arab economy, would have a greater role to play in the coming stage since they have the capabilities to lead institutions, corporations, take strategic decisions, ensure its implementation and achieve their goals.
