Oman: Muscat Festival to attract more than 2 million visitors

Global Arab Network - Muscat Municipality unveiled the full details of programmes and activities of Muscat Festival 2012 which will kick-off on January 26th and lasts till February 23rd.

The activities of the festival will be held at Al Qurum Natural Park and Al Naseem Park. This was unveiled by Khalid bin Mohammed Buhram, Deputy Head of the Main Organizing Committee of the festival in a press conference held at Grand Hyatt Hotel today in the presence of a number of representatives of the governmental and private departments.

On his turn, Saif bin Siba'a al-Rasheedi, Head of the Media Committee said that Al Qurum Natural Park will host a number of activities, including the Omani heritage village and an exhibition for the traditional Omani arts.

He also added that "the International Festival for Arts, Heritage and Creativity" will be held at Al Qurum International Park. The event, which is organized in collaboration with the International Congress on Innovation and Creativity in Arts and Crafts, is a focal point for the showcasing of handicrafts worldwide.

He also furthered that the activities will include Oman Food Festival to be organized in conjunction with the students of Oman Tourism College.

As for the activities that will be held at Al Naseem Park, he explained that the park will host a number of family activities, including an education village for children and amusement park with fun fairs, as well as children's entertainment shows.

The activities of Muscat Festival 2012 will also include "Tour of Oman" on February 14th which will include 6 stages with participation of 16 teams from various countries of the world. The activities will also include "Muscat Fashion Week" among others.
