Global Arab Network - In their new work "A Walk in Jerusalem", composed and performed by them, the Khoury Trio take the audience through a metaphorical trip where they pay homage to their grandmother's stories about the peacefulness and social co-existense of the three main relegions in the world in her olden times Jerusalem, all that put in face of the reality of them being unable to walk in that city or even visit it.

As they take that musical trip to Jerusalem, The Khoury Trio also make another trip between cultures and civilizations by fusing the richness and diversity of the classical Arabic music with contemporary world music, like flaminco and jazz.

The work which has been first debuted in the Arab Monde Institute in Paris last week was motivated by Khoury Trio's proudful feeling for the accession of Palestine to UNESCO.

The Khory Trio is formed of brothers Elia (lute), Osama (kanun) and Basil (violin), and although they formed this band since their childhood, and they perform together, they also worked on individual projects. Basil worked with the eminent maestro Daniel Barenboim; Osama was the youngest kanun player to participate in the internation kanun forum at the age of 15. Elia also played with various comtemporary ensembles throughout Europe.

The Khoury Trio will be the main musical part in "The People Want", a charity evening supported by Qattan Foundation, Al-Abdallah Foundation, The Syrian Writers Association, Firefly International and Artiquea Gallery.
