In order to publish an Article or a Press Release, please follow the steps below:
1) Log in to your personal account at Global Arab Network site.
2) From the Members Menu, located on the left side of the screen, choose Submit an Article, as shown below.
You will be directed to the Submit an Article page, as shown below.
3) Click on the Paste from Word button, as shown below.
The Paste from Word window appears.
4) Select and copy (Ctrl + C) the article you are working on from a Microsoft Office WORD. Use CTRL+V on your keyboard to paste the text into the Paste from Word window.
5) Click on the Insert button, as shown below.
6) You are directed back to the Submit an Article page and your text is appearing now in the Text Box.
The text is appearing now in the Text Box.
7) Type in the title of your article in the Title box, as shown below.
8) In order to add an Image to your text, place the cursor in the top left corner of the Text Box (at the beginning of the article) as indicated below by the red arrow.
9) Click on the Insert/Edit Image button, as shown below.
10) Image Manager window appears. Click the Upload button located in the middle right section of the Image Manager window, as shown below.
11) The Upload window appears. Click on the Add button located in the top left corner of the Upload window, as shown below.
The File Upload window appears. Browse for the Image you want to upload, which should be saved in your computer.
Select the Image and click Open, as shown below.
12) You are directed back to the Upload window and the Image you have opened appears in the Queue box, located at the bottom section of the Upload window, as shown below.
13) Click on the Upload button, as shown below.
It takes few seconds for the Image to upload. The process is completed after the green sign  appears in the Queue box, as shown below.
You can quit now the Upload window by pressing the Cancel button, as shown below.
14) You are back in the Image Manager window. From the list of photos displayed in the middle section of the Image Manager window select your Image’s name, as shown below.
15) Click the Insert button located at the bottom of the Image Manager window, as shown below.
You are directed back to the Submit an Article screen and your image appears in the Text Box, at the beginning of your article, as shown below.
16) Every article needs to have a short introduction composed of two (max. two and a half) first lines of the text, followed by the Read More mark. In order to add the Read More mark, place the cursor after two (max. two and a half) first lines of the article in the Text Box, as shown below.
17) Click on the Read More button located under the Text Box, as shown below.
The horizontal line should appear now in the Text Box. It indicates the position of the Read More mark, as shown below.
18) You have to specify now the section that you want your article to appear in (e.g. Culture, Politics, Technology etc.). Select it from the Section list, as shown below.
19) Fill in the Author Alias box with the writer’s name, as shown below.
20) You are ready now to save the article by pressing the Save button located at the top right , as shown below.
The article you have saved will appear online after the Editorial Team of the Global Arab Network approves it. Each article you publish will appear as well on your Profile Page. |
